Thank you for being here. First of all, why are you here? Looking for ideas to start a home based Internet business? Or you already start Internet marketing but getting very confused and un-organised how to run your online business effectively? There seems to be always a lot to do but getting too little results!

I am going to share how I embark on this Internet business and now have some income from the Internet. You may heard of many similar stories of how people 'made it big' in the Internet based business. You are not going to hear from me such stories. However, you can pick some useful tips from here and avoid some pitfalls. I have made many mistakes along the way. Remember, what you are going to hear from me is my personal journey.

You may belong to one or more categories of persons that I describe below:

• You are completely unfamiliar with internet based home business or marketing or

• You have some interest in online marketing or may be you are building an online business now or

• You are considering if/how to make money online or

• You are trying hard at current efforts and you are looking for a better way to success in online marketing or

• You are looking for ways to work at home; a.k.a. you want to be a work at home mom

My Personal Journey

If you already built websites, I would like to hear from you and share your story with us here. If you are a total beginner in Internet based home business, my stories may help you to see the Internet based home business from a new perspective (don't think you must buy from me, LOL).

My Interest in Internet Business

I am from the Eastern part of this whole. I am from the tiny cosmopolitan island called Singapore. Started going online in 2002. I was then attracted by the way people doing business on the Internet, especially the solo home business. Back then, there was a lot of restriction like credit cards from certain parts of the world will not be accepted for payment.

My First Website

I started building my first website in 2003. I started with a 'reseller' program selling an ebook product for US$97. Guess what? I started with full enthusiasm.

I got a problem then. Who will come and visit my website? Who will know me and who will buy my products?

I tried using various method the master reseller told me to do. I gave up after a year or so. AHEM... too embarrass to tell that I did not make any sales.

After that experience, my enthusiasm in making money on the Internet was dampened. However, I did not give up. I was still on the look out to learn something that really useful.

In year 2005, I read a local ads about an Internet business seminar. I signed an expensive (US$1900) course at the end of the business. At the end of the course (sessions), I started building my site again for the second time.

Everything went on well as I had the confident that it would bring in some money. Was that a successful one? I will let you know later.

Greed and Distraction and Failure

By now you should know that Internet is a place full of distractions and greed (if you like to call it). So I fell into this trap of greed. I attended a few more money making seminars now and then while I was building my website.

Someone approached me and sold me the idea of making money fast. Having a background in conventional networking marketing, I thought Internet Network Marketing should be easily conquered! I was dead wrong! I ended up a few thousand dollar poorer after one year in the get-rich-quick program.

It was a double blow to me when I realized such a wrong move. I was facing a financial difficulty at the same time. I left my day job without a steady income! That spelled disaster when it come to a family of six (one wife and four schooling-age children).

Needless to say, I did not put in much effort in building Internet based home business website. If you were me, I guess you would do the same. Worse still, I was a the edge of giving up life and everything. I was in denial that I could not make a decent income for my family from the Internet.

I almost gave up my website which I have build half way through. There was some tiny income in the book(not significant for the merchant to send a check out for payment) then.

It was Almost Gone!

In the midst of my struggle whether to cling on my hope on generating income on the Internet, my Internet based home business website was expired without renewal for about two weeks! My hard work almost went into the drain when I discovered it was expired and I could no longer login and the URL was de-registered.

A Wake Up Call

Some how, I did not want to declare failure over the Internet business. I decided to continue with this Internet based home business website.

But how? It has expired! No way I can get it back as I was informed by the service provider that they had served the final notice for renewal.

Purely by Grace

I did not know at all if I went on to renew my website. I followed URL in the renewal notice. I gave it a try and to my surprise, the renewal went through and my site was restored within a few days. From my online experience, I never came across any service provide would allow their client to renew after two weeks of expiry and restore my site completely! I would say, I was purely by grace. There was not a single clause in the purchase agreement that they are obliged to restore my site. It am still very grateful to Ken whole runs his business for the benefits of his customers.

Revival of my Expired Site

I decided that I must let my first half part of my effort went down the drain. After the site was restored, I started again to focus on my online business. I went back to Ken's website to read his online course again.

I followed his advise to serve my reader first instead of serving my pocket first(you know what I mean).

I continued to build my content and provide valuable information to my reader.

Breakthrough in Online Income

As I was focusing on building the content of my site, I was not paying attention of how well my online business was growing until I receive a US$500 check one day in August 2008 from a vitamin supplement merchant from New Zealand. The second US$500 check came in dec 2008. I was trilled to see the real check!

Looking Forward

Not only I am excited, my whole family is excited too. My wife and I have a vision to grow four sites to generate passive income in long term. Why four sites? We have four young children! We want to use the income from each site to fund each of our children's university education. We also do not rule out that they grow their own Internet business at appropriate age. However, our focus now is to grow the two Internet based home business websites we are growing.
