How to Run A Profitable Membership Site in Your Business

Membership website marketing strategy is not a relatively new thing in the Internet marketing arena. However, it has become easier for samll home business owner to use controlled site to deliver their products.

You probably have heard many successful stories on making huge income from membership websites.

You are also thinking only those Internet gurus can set up a successful membership website.

Well, this a half truth. A also thought it that way before I attended Jimmy D. Brown's videocast seminar recently. I got some of my doubts clarified. Here are some of the gist that I took home from his videocast.

Here a the five downs of traditional membership sites.

1. They require too much effort to set up

2. They are pressurized to built content

3. They require pricy scripts and technical add-on

4. They are time consuming to be kept up

5. They have battle with subscription

Having said that, Jimmy D, Brown counters these five downs with five ups of an alternative solution.

He took a radical change from the traditional membership websites. He proposes that:

1. They must be easy to set up

2. They must be easy to maintain

3. They no need fancy or pricy add-ons

4. They should require you very little time

5. They must keep the subscriber active

It is easy said than done, you may wonder he terms this type of membership sites a Fixed Term Membership (FTM) site. What are the specific features of FTM? By definition, a fixed term membership consists of weekly content shared via autoresponders to paid members for a specific period of time.

To make the marketing effective for a FTM site, here are a few crucial steps you must take care of.

1. Start with your unique offer, which must consist the title, marketing twist and the terms.

2. Simplify for fast results. This include your promise for fast  results and of course you must be able to deliver them.

3. Systemize your content to increase application, retention of  subscribers and anticipation.

4. Set a legitimate limit to your offer, for example in terms of membership cap, special bonus offer, time limit etc.

5. Spread your business. You can exploit from your untold story, set it in an unusual angle or consider what are the unusual benefits.

6. Secure customer evangelist. Make you members bring in members for you by mentioning it in your content, members area and follow up emails.

7. Select high profile partners. Search in your niche. Seek to  build relationship. Send them and offer they can't refuse. Sell them on your offer.

From my personal Internet marketing experience, it is not difficult to work on a niche you already know.

It is the simple approach that many marketers do not know  that kills their business.
